Renate Kaffl

Renate Kaffl (born April 18, 1918 in Munich ; † February 3, 2003 there ) was a German journalist and politician ( CSU ).

After she received her Abitur at the Munich Luisengymnasium , Kaffl was drafted into the labor service. She then studied journalism, history, Bavarian history and English at the University of Munich and worked as a freelance journalist for several years. In 1960 she became state and press officer, editor and managing director of the Catholic Women's Association in Bavaria and the Palatinate. In the same year she was elected state secretary of the KDFB until she became deputy state chairwoman in 1963, and was re-elected to this office in 1967 and 1970. After attending some courses for adult educators, she was employed for adult education in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . In addition, she was active in the state committee of Catholics in Bavaria and in various committees for mothers' rest, family and elderly care, marriage and family counseling.

Kaffl was politically active in the CSU and the women's union, which she joined in May 1963. There she performed numerous functions. On August 17, 1972, she replaced Peter Schnell in the Bavarian State Parliament , of which she was a member until 1974.
