Renate de Jong-Meyer

Renate de Jong-Meyer , (born September 8, 1947 in Bad Neuenahr ) is a German psychologist and university professor .

Education and professional career

After acquiring the baccalaureate in 1966, she studied until 1971. Diploma graduate psychology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn . From 1971 to 1973 she was a scholarship holder; from 1973 research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry in Munich. 1975 de Jong-Meyer was at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich to Dr. phil. PhD with the dissertation topic "The recognition performance of schizophrenics, brain organics and normal people under different difficulty, exercise and material conditions". From 1982 to 1983 she spent a stay abroad financed by the Max Planck Society at the National Institute of Mental Health(NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1983 he completed his habilitation with the subject "Neurotic Depression and the Effectiveness of Psychological Therapies" at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. With this she acquired the qualification to teach clinical psychology . In 1984 she accepted an appointment as a university professor ( C3 ) for clinical psychology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster . Since 1990 she has had the authority to supervise behavioral therapy ; In 1999 she acquired her license to practice medicine and a certificate in behavior therapy.
