Martin Hautzinger
Martin Hautzinger (* 1950 in Frankenbach near Heilbronn ) is a German psychologist and university professor .
Life
Martin Hautzinger studied psychology in Bochum and at the Free University of Berlin from 1971 to 1976 . In 1980 he received his doctorate. phil. at the Technical University of Berlin on "Depressives and their social partners".
In 1981 he was a professor for clinical psychology and psychodiagnostics at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg im Breisgau . From 1981 to 1983 he was "assistant professor" at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon in Eugene ( USA ), where he worked with Peter M. Lewinsohn, among others. From 1984 to 1989 he was a university assistant for clinical and differential psychology at the University of Konstanz .
In 1987 he completed his habilitation on the subject of “coping with stress”, and in 1990 he was appointed university professor and head of the department for clinical psychology at the Psychological Institute of the University of Mainz . Since 1996 he has been Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Psychological Institute of the University of Tübingen (succeeding Niels Birbaumer , who moved to the medical faculty) .
His research focus is cognitive behavior therapy for mood disorders . He is the author or editor of several textbooks and manuals in the field of clinical psychology and behavior therapy as well as co-author of the German version of the Beck Depression Inventory .
