Renato de Araújo Chaves Júnior , known as Renato (born May 4, 1990 in São Paulo , São Paulo ) is a Brazilian football player on the position of defender . He currently plays for al-Wahda (Saudi Arabia) .

Career

Youth and club career

In 1998 Renato joined the youth department of the major Brazilian club Corinthians São Paulo, which is based in the metropolis of São Paulo . He went through various youth league classes and came in February 2009 for the first time in the professional squad of the club with play in the Série A, the top division in the country.

After the team rose from the second-class Série B to the top football league in 2008, Renato already trained with the professional team, although he was still integrated into the club's youth. Renato attracted the attention of the professionals, especially through his strong seasons in 2007 and 2008. A little three months after he was promoted to the professional team, Renato made his professional debut on May 10, 2009, when he was on the field for the full game in a 0-1 home defeat against SC Internacional .
