description
The vehicle was developed for the Renault World Series. The chassis is a monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . The chassis is designed with high-strength uniball joints and push rods. The mid-engine drive unit, the sequential seven-speed gearbox and the engine from the Nissan GT-R transfer the torque to the rear wheels. Six- piston brake calipers act on the carbon-ceramic brake discs . In addition to traction control, the Renault RS01 has an anti-lock braking system from Bosch . Front headlights and rear lights are designed with light emitting diodes . At a speed of 270 km / h, a contact pressure of around 11 kN acts on the RS01. This roughly corresponds to the weight of the vehicle.
