Rendezvous (band)
Rendezvous is a German hit group .
Career
The group was founded in 1988. The founding members included the brothers Heiner Peters (born January 28, 1952 in Hörde ) and Werner Peters (born October 13, 1954 in Hörde) as well as Claudia Schorlemmer (born April 8 in Unna ), who later started a solo career as Claudia Stern , and Barbara Kostrzwa (born January 8 in Bottrop ).
In 1988, the group with the title You are a star for me took 10th place in the German preliminary decision for the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson . After that she became the backing band of Roy Black . In 1991 she reached 9th place at the German Song Festival with In Your Arm I'm Close to Heaven ; In 1992 there followed 3rd place with Fliege mein Drachen . In 1994 Rendezvous played at Michael Schumacher's World Cup party and also at his wedding the following year. In 1996 the group participated again in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest and finished 7th with Ohne dich .
At the beginning of 2000 the two singers left the group and Kerstin Schneider was accepted. Since then the band has performed as a trio. In 2001, Rendezvous with You are my melody applied to the Grand Prix of Folk Music , but did not reach the final.
