Renske Endel

Renske Endel (* 13. July 1983 in Noord-Scharwoude ) is a former Dutch gymnast .

At the age of five, she began her sporting activities at the "Sportverein DVV, gymvereniging DVV (Door Vlugheid Vooruit) " in Noord-Scharwoude. She won the silver medal on the uneven bars at the World Gymnastics Championships in Ghent in 2001 , making her the first Dutch woman to win a medal at the World Championships since 1903. In general, she appeared in 2001 and 2002 with her strongest athletic lines, she became vice world and European champion on the uneven bars . Her trainer at the time, Frank Louter , was not without public attention and discussion because of his training methods and his dealings with his wards, including Endel and gymnasts Verona van de Leur , Suzanne Harmes and Gabriëlla Wammes ; so there were accusations of emotional abuse and corporal punishment . The allegations are made by the four Dutch top athletes in the daily newspaper “ Algemeen Dagblad ” and in the magazine “Helden”.

Due to injury she was unable in the selection for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens to take part, which she a short time later from the competitive sport adopted.

At the European Championships in Patras in 2002 , the Dutch team took silver behind Russia.

Endel studied nutrition and dietetics . Endel has been working as a motivational speaker and acrobat at "Corpus Acrobatic Theater" in Amsterdam since 2005 .
