description

A Renaissance portal from 1609 is still preserved from the previous building, with the following Latin inscription: "QVISQVIS ME LAESERIT DOMINVS VLTOR ERIT ENGELHARD GÖLER VON RABENSPVRG ANNA MARIA GÖLERIN VON RABENSPVRG BORN FROM MENTZINGEN 1609" will be my avenger ...). Between the portal arch and the inscription is the alliance coat of arms of the builders of the demolished Renaissance castle, Engelhard I. Göler von Ravensburg (1570–1654) and Anna Maria geb. von Mentzingen (1582-1641) attached. Engelhard I was chief bailiff in Durlach and Pforzheim and later owned a town house in Pforzheim. The name Pforzheimer Schloss for the building in Sulzfeld comes from its connection to Pforzheim .

The wing structure is flanked by a stair tower that was part of the northern wing of the building, which was demolished in 1807.
