Pensioners glut

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A flood of pensioners or aging is a political buzzword to indicate the demographic change towards a high number of pensioners to be provided for. In 1996 the term was chosen as the German word of the year .

Various factors, in particular the decline in the birth rate and the increase in average life expectancy , have reversed the so-called age pyramid . This development is partially presented in such a way that, purely arithmetically, there are supposedly too few young working people to ensure the supply of the old, no longer working population class with the current social system . The term pension glut should imply a sudden increase in the number of old people. But the gradual reversal of the age pyramid was already noticeable in the late 1980s .
