Repsol Oil & Gas Canada Inc. (until 2015: Talisman Energy Inc. ) is a Canadian subsidiary of Repsol based in Calgary , Alberta .

Until the takeover in 2015, Talisman Energy was listed under ISIN = CA87425E1034 in the S & P / TSX 60 share index. In 2012, the company was Canada's sixth largest oil and gas production company.

history

Initially, the company was part of British Petroleum (BP). In 1992 the company became independent under the company name Talisman Energy . In 1998 the company Arakis Energy was acquired, which produced oil in Sudan . In 2003 Talisman Energy decided to withdraw from the oil business in Sudan.
