The Retamales Point (English; Bulgarian нос Ретамалес nos Retamales ) is a rocky and 700 m long headland on the northwest coast of Nelson Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms 7.92 km northeast of Harmony Point , 2.85 km northeast of Smilets Point , 1.75 km south of Withem Island and 8.64 km west to south of Rip Point the northeast boundary of the entrance to Hall Cove and separates it from Argonavt Cove .
British scientists mapped them in 1968. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2014 after José Retamales Espinoza (* 1948), director of the Chilean Antarctic Institute, in recognition of his support for the Bulgarian Antarctic program.
