Reto Scherrer

Reto Scherrer (born December 8, 1975 in Weinfelden ) is a Swiss radio and television presenter . He became known as the presenter of the morning show on Radio Top in Winterthur .

Life

Scherrer is the owner of a proprietor's patent and originally worked as a commercial clerk at the Hotel Thurgauerhof in Weinfelden. He started his media career in 1996 together with Mona Vetsch as an editor at Radio Thurgau and later became the presenter of the morning show at Radio Top in Winterthur. Scherrer's trademark was hidden telephone calls, which Radio Top also marketed on sound carriers. So he called Ms. Burkhardt every day, a pensioner who lives in the old people's home. In 2005 Scherrer received the Media Prize in Eastern Switzerland in the category Best Radio Feature 2005 for his program Burkhardt & Scherrer . In 2001 Scherrer went on a one-year trip around the world. Before that, the Zurich canton police attacked a man in Winterthur who was trying to break into the Radio Top broadcasting studio in order to attack Scherrer with a wooden club.

From 2005 up to and including 2018, Scherrer worked as an outside reporter on the program “ Donnschtig-Jass ” on Swiss radio and television . On November 24, 2007, he and Monika Fasnacht presented the Saturday evening show “Spiel, Spass & Jass” on SRF 1 . In December 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, Scherrer was an outside reporter for the week-long fundraising program “ Every centime counts ” for Swiss radio and television .

At the end of 2007, Reto Scherrer switched to the national radio station SRF 1 ; he works there 80 percent as a moderator. He has also worked 20 percent in the entertainment department of Swiss radio and television for several years. At the Glory Awards by glanz & gloria in December 2012, Scherrer won a Glory in the Crazy category. After its last broadcast on Radio Top on December 10, 2007, photos of the first meeting between Scherrer and Burkhardt, who met for the first time after seven years of telephone contact, were shown. Radio Top has released a CD with a best-of from Burkhardt & Scherrer and a video from their first meeting. The entire proceeds from the CD will go to Ms. Burkhardt's retirement home. Max Vögeli, the mayor of Weinfelden, presented Scherrer with a Weinfelder watch after his last broadcast. Such an award is given to citizens of Weinfelden who have achieved something special for their community. Scherrer is also traveling all over Switzerland as a party DJ and gala presenter. On August 15, 2009, he married his long-time girlfriend. The two live in Weinfelden .

On April 14, 2012, Scherrer and presenter Roman Kilchsperger presented the new Saturday evening show “Fun and games with celebrities” for the first time on Swiss radio and television SRF. On December 24, 2012, Scherrer and Kilchsperger presented the all-day SRF television program “Weihnachtsstube”. On April 20, 2013, Swiss television produced a Saturday evening program of a moving ship for the first time. The Sonnenkönigin belongs according to the manufacturer of the largest passenger ships on a central European inland waters. The show was moderated by Kilchsperger and Scherrer. On December 27, 2014, the Swiss TV program will be broadcast for the first time in its history in Europa-Park Rust and therefore abroad. Again moderated by Kilchsperger and Scherrer.

In the summer of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019, Scherrer wandered through Switzerland for a week for the SRF1 project “Querfeldeins”. On November 23, 2013, the Saturday evening show "Fun and games with celebrities" was broadcast live again on Swiss radio and television. In it, the moderator Kilchsperger surprisingly announced that his moderator colleague Scherrer and his wife Melanie recently became the parents of a girl named Emma. Their second daughter Lisa was born in the spring of 2015.

In 2017 and 2018, after 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Scherrer was again listed in the “who is who” edition of the Thurgauer Zeitung in the list of the 100 most prominent Thurgau personalities. And in 2016 for the first time in the golden edition of “Who's Who” of Eastern Switzerland. On September 13, 2014, the " Samschtig-Jass " celebrated its 750th edition as the oldest entertainment program in all of Europe. For the anniversary broadcast, presenter Reto Scherrer went in search of the most extraordinary Jass locations and people in Switzerland. The brothel “Die Rote Villa” in the canton of Thurgau was also there.

In April 2017 it was announced that Reto Scherrer will be the new "Samschtig-Jass" presenter in late summer 2017. He is replacing Monika Fasnacht after more than 18 years.

On August 26, 2017, Swiss television broadcast the first “Samschtig-Jass” program with Reto Scherrer. Shortly afterwards it became public that he and his wife became parents for the third time on the same evening. After the two daughters, a son was born.

On September 10, 2019, it was announced that Reto Scherrer had terminated all contracts (presenter radio SRF1 and presenter “Samschtig-Jass”) at Swiss radio and television SRF, with a leading role in moderation in the new Ringier project Blick TV at the beginning of 2020 to take over.
