Retrogott und Hulk Hodn (until 2013 Huss and Hodn ) is a Cologne rap formation, consisting of the MC Retrogott (civil Kurt Tallert , also known as Kurt Hustle ) and the DJ Hulk Hodn. You currently have a contract with the Cologne record label Entourage Business. Their names are based on Kurt Russell and Hulk Hogan .

In the meantime they have been renamed Retrogott & Hulk Hodn .

style

Musically, they are based on American hip-hop from the 1980s and 1990s and often use samples . Lyrically they can be classified as a provocative battle rap that criticizes the negative aspects of life. You distance yourself from commercial rap . The striking texts by Retrogott often contain references to musical models from the so-called golden era of rap, such as B. Big L , Nas or Too Short ( rappers I like ). With radio alarm clocks ( double not stereo ) and snakes are talkative ( snakes are poisonous ), Retrogott and Hulk Hodn pay homage to the German rap pioneers Stieber Twins in several pieces. During a tour stop in 2009 near Heidelberg, Retrogott presented radio alarm clock with Martin Stieber on stage.
