Territorial hunting system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In states with territorial hunting systems , the hunting right is tied to hunting grounds .

Germany and Austria

In Germany and Austria , both of which use the hunting system throughout the whole of Germany, the right to hunt is linked to property . The hunt is exercised in hunting grounds. The property owner is the owner of the hunting rights . He can exercise the right to hunt himself, provided he has the qualification ( hunting license ), or he leases it to another natural person, a hunting license holder.

For Germany, the contiguous minimum area for hunting is specified in the Federal Hunting Act § 4. This creates a private hunting district according to § 7 BJagdG with at least 75 hectares. Where there is no such area, the landowners form a hunting cooperative and combine their areas into a common hunting district (§ 8). At least 150 hectares are required here. The countries may differ in their national laws.

Switzerland

In Switzerland , the hunt is a shelf of the state, i. H. of the canton , which is why the area hunting system here does not mean exactly the same as in Germany and Austria. In those cantons of Switzerland that are familiar with the hunting system (from west to east: Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Solothurn, Aargau, Lucerne, Zurich, Schaffhausen, Thurgau and St. Gallen), the individual districts usually cover the area of one political community . These areas are leased to hunting societies in which only the tenants and their guests are allowed to hunt. In contrast, in those cantons that are familiar with the licensed hunting system , the patent holders are allowed to hunt in the entire area of the respective canton.
