Reinerio Ruíz (born June 21, 1966 in the municipality of La Lisa / Havana , Cuba), also known as "El Bombón de la Salsa" or "Elvis des Salsa", is a salsa musician from Cuba . His music style is assigned to the Salsa Romántica or Salsa Erótica.

Life

Rey Ruiz was born in Havana in 1966 and showed his musical and vocal talent already in his childhood. His parents enrolled him in the Havana Conservatory of Music. In his early beginnings he had TV appearances with orchestras such as La Riverside and Los Dadas in the Hotel Habana Libre and later in the famous cabaret Tropicana. In 1984 he left Cuba and emigrated to the Dominican Republic , from there Rey Ruiz moved to Miami / Florida , where he devoted himself to salsa music. In 1987 Rey Ruiz recorded his first CD, which bore his name and won several prizes. With his second album "Mi media Mitad" he was as successful as his first and was awarded the silver record in Puerto Rico , in Colombia he even won gold. His biggest hits include titles like "No Me Acostumbro", "Amiga", "Mi Media Mitad" and "Miénteme Otra Vez". He gained great popularity in both Latin America and the Hispanic population of North America. During his career he had several advertising deals with companies such as Sony , Miller, and Pepsi-Cola .
