The Rhanerbräu GmbH & Co. KG from Rhan in the Upper Palatinate is one of the five oldest German breweries with an uninterrupted brewing tradition. The brewery, first mentioned in 1283, has been owned by the Bruckmayer family or their descendants since 1776, and by the Plößl family since 1977. The beers of the Rhanerbräu received awards, most recently the European Beer Star in silver in 2015 for the dark wheat beer Schwarzer Pandur .
