The Rhenish Mission Church in Otjimbingwe is a church built in 1867 in Otjimbingwe , the former capital of German South West Africa , today's Namibia . It has been a National Monument since December 20, 1974 .
The foundation stone for the mission church of the Rhenish Mission Society was laid in 1865. 1867 under the direction and according to plans by Eduard Hälbich built, it was on 1 December of the same year by the missionary Reverend Hugo Hahn ordained . The church tower was only built in 1899 and collapsed a year later, in 1904 it was rebuilt.
The church often served as a refuge during the Indigenous Wars around 1900.
