Rhipsalis pulchra is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rhipsalis pulchra grows epiphytically or lithophytically with flaccid, drooping shoots, usually three or four in whorls , with unlimited growth. The bright green, rotating shoots gradually taper. They are up to eight inches or more long. The non-assembled areoles are bare.

The downward-facing, slightly reddish or slightly purple-tinged flowers appear on the shoot tips or on the side of the shoots. They are 12 to 14 millimeters long. The fruits are brownish red. The species is not well known.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rhipsalis pulchra is common in the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais , Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo at altitudes of 1500 to 2500 meters.

It was first described in 1915 by Albert Löfgren . A synonym is Erythrorhipsalis pulchra (Loefgr.) Doweld .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
