Rhipsalis sulcata is a species of plant in the genus Rhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rhipsalis sulcata grows epiphytically with several, elongated, spreading shoots of limited growth, is somewhat upright, sometimes pendulous and ramified only acrotonously . The light green shoots sometimes lignify, are 20 to 30 centimeters long and have a diameter of 3 to 6 millimeters. The shoots around the widely spaced areoles are reddish in color. There are 5 low ribs .

The white to light pink, wheel-shaped flowers appear laterally and are up to 1.2 centimeters long. The fruits are white.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rhipsalis sulcata is common in the south of the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo . The first description was published in 1898 by Frédéric Albert Constantin Weber .

There is insufficient data on the threat status of Rhipsalis sulcata in the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species .
