Riaan Botha

Riaan Johannes Botha (born November 8, 1970 in Pretoria ) is a former South African pole vaulter .

At the African Athletics Championships he won bronze in Belle Vue Maurel in 1992 and silver in Durban in 1993 .

At the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 he was eliminated from the qualification, and at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he came in 14th place.

In 1997 he finished fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Paris and failed at the World Championships in Athens without a valid attempt. In 1998 he was fifth at the World Athletics Cup in Johannesburg and won the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur .

In 1991, 1992 and 1996 he became South African champion.
