Ribblehead is an area in the Yorkshire Dales , North Yorkshire , England and a small river in that area. The area is the origin of the River Ribble , which arises here from the Gayle Beck and the small tributary of the Ribblehead . The area is bounded to the north by Blea Moor and to the west by Whernside and Ingleborough .

The Ribblehead station on the Settle-Carlisle Line and the Ribblehead Viaduct are striking buildings on Ribblehead. The towns of Horton in Ribblesdale and Ingleton are near Ribblehead.

Ribblehead is an excavated rural settlement in the Danelag and Kingdom of York. Here a long house was found that resembles Norwegian buildings of the same time.
