Ribeira Seca is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Vila Franca do Campo on the Portuguese Atlantic island of São Miguel , which belongs to the Azores . 1106 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011) live in the municipality on an area of 5.5 km², which corresponds to a population density of 200.1 inhabitants / km².
The municipality was newly created in 2002, making it the youngest municipality in the Azores.
