Ribeira de Frades is a Portuguese town and former municipality.

The former municipality ( Freguesia ) belongs to the district ( concelho ) of Coimbra . The community had a total area of 5.9 km² and 1927 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, Ribeira de Frades was merged with the municipality of São Martinho do Bispo to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de São Martinho do Bispo e Ribeira de Frades . The headquarters of the new municipality was São Martinho do Bispo.
