Ricarda Klein

Ricarda Klein (born November 30, 1944 in Heringen / Helme ; † November 13, 2011 in Darmstadt ) was a German , professional care manager.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1963, she completed a three-year nursing training course and then graduated as a nursing manager . At first she worked as a nursing director in Wolfhagen , then at the University Hospital Göttingen . In 1990 she became the nursing director at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). She completed a postgraduate course in human resource development at the Technical University of Chemnitz . Until her retirement in 2009 she was President of the European Nurse Directors Association (ENDA).

Ricarda Klein was managing director of the Association of Nursing Directors of University Hospitals and Medical Universities in Germany (VPU), which she founded in 1985. She was Vice President of the German Nursing Council . Since 2010 she has headed the development group for the Operations and Procedure Code (OPS) 9-20 (“high-cost care”) and the complex care measures score .

She died on November 13, 2011 in Darmstadt after a short illness.

Awards

Klein was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in February 2011 for her influence on the national and international development of care .
