Ricardo Mannetti (born April 24, 1975 ) is a former Namibian soccer player and was his country's national coach from 2013 to 2019, with a short break in 2015 .

Career

player

From 1997 to 2005 Mannetti played - with a short interruption - for Santos Cape Town in South Africa until he moved to the Umtata Bush Bucks in July 2005 . He then played for Western Province United for a few months .

On December 30, 2006, the then 31-year-old midfielder ended his career with a farewell game against the Namibian national soccer team , for which he himself had played 12 international matches, in front of 5,000 spectators in the Sam Nujoma Stadium .

Trainer

In 2007 Mannetti took over the position of coach at the Namibian first division club Civics FC , from which he resigned on January 4, 2010. On January 6, 2010, he was introduced as the new coach of Black Africa . In 2013 he took over the office of national coach for Namibia, before surprisingly resigning on June 18, 2015 after the national team's greatest success. On August 3, 2015 Mannetti signed another four-year contract as national coach in his home country, which expired in July 2019.

Mannetti took part in the 1998 African Football Championship with the Namibian national soccer team. In 2002 he was South African football champion with Santos Cape Town . In 2019 he took part in the Africa Cup with the Namibian national team.
