Richard Anthony Muttkowski

Richard Anthony Muttkowski (born March 4, 1887 Milwaukee ( Wisconsin ), † 1943 ) was an American entomologist .

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence College , St. Paul Seminary and the University of Wisconsin in 1904 , he worked as a zoologist at the Milwaukee Public Museum from 1906 to 1912 . In 1916 he obtained the Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin and spent a year at the University of Missouri . in 1917 he again took a position at Kansas State College for a year . At the University of Idaho he spent the years from 1919 to 1922. His professorship for biology , which he held at the University of Detroit from 1922, he kept until his death.

He made his most recognized publications in the field of experimental biology and the physiology of insects .
