The University of Detroit , since 1990 University of Detroit Mercy, is a private, co-educational Catholic university in Detroit , Michigan . Around 6,000 students are currently studying here. The college is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities .

history

The university was founded in 1878 by Jesuits . In 1990 she joined forces with the Mercy College of Detroit , founded in 1941 by the local Sisters of Mercy.

The university is spread over three locations: Most of the programs are located on the McNichols Campus. This is also where the sports club and six student residences are located. The Law Faculty is located on the Riverfront Campus and the Dental Faculty is located on the Outer Drive Campus and will move to a new location in 2008 .
