National and University Library of Iceland
The National and University Library of Iceland ( Isl. Landsbókasafn Íslands - Háskólabókasafn ) was created in 1994 from the merger of the National Library of Iceland and the Library of the University of Iceland ( Isl. Háskóli Íslands) in Reykjavík . On December 1, 1994, a modern new building was moved into on Arngrímsgata. The library also holds most of Iceland's medieval manuscripts.
