Turkish National Library

The Turkish National Library ( Turkish Milli Kütüphane ) was founded on April 15, 1946 by the Turkish Ministry of Education in Ankara . She is a member of the Conference of European National Librarians (CENL).

The extensive inventory includes over three million analog and digital media, etc. a. Books, journals, manuscripts, Arabic scripts, sheet music, cards and posters. It reports to the Turkish Bibliographical Institute, which maintains the Turkish bibliography . The national library also offers a microfilm archive and a so-called Ataturk documentation center.

As early as 1947, the library moved to new premises for reasons of space. A long renovation phase took place from 1965 to 1983.
