Ernst Heinrich Richard Böninger (born March 19, 1874 in Duisburg , † December 6, 1944 in Wiesbaden ) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator of the Grafschaft Bentheim district .

family

Böninger was a son of the secret commercial councilor Otto Böninger (factory owner in Duisburg) and his wife Paula, née. from the council. He was an uncle of the embassy secretary Ernst Eduard vom Rath .

Life

After attending the preschool of the Realgymnasium and the K. Gymnasium in Duisburg, where he passed the Abitur at Easter 1892, Böninger studied law in Zurich, Heidelberg, Gießen, Berlin and Marburg. In Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Rhenania , in Giessen of the Corps Teutonia . He completed his studies with a doctorate. jur. from. In 1896 he became a court trainee, in 1898 a government trainee in Cologne and Stettin, and in 1903 a government assessor. After a position as an unskilled worker at the district office in Osterode am Harz , Böninger came to the government in Breslau in 1906 and there in 1907 in the department for church and school matters (head of the church political department). In 1910 he was appointed government councilor and, after a temporary leave of absence, was transferred to the government in Osnabrück in 1911. In April 1920 he took over the administration of the district office in the Grafschaft Bentheim district, where he was appointed by the Osnabrück regional president against the will of the district council. In September of that year he was appointed district administrator. In December 1920 Böninger took over the management of the local agricultural association in Bentheim, and in 1927 his wife became the founding chairwoman of the Grafschafter Colonial Women's Association. In January 1931 elected in the Grafschafter Bezirkskirchentag to represent the Reformed Landeskirchentag in Aurich. In 1931 he said goodbye for health reasons and left Bentheim. He last spent his retirement in Wiesbaden.

In his function as district administrator, Böninger had been a member and chairman of the supervisory board of the district cultivation cooperative of the agricultural district association of the Grafschaft Bentheim district since 1924. In 1925 he became a member of the supervisory board of Rheinisch-Westfälische Elektrizitätswerk AG in Essen.
