Richard Carlson (Author)

Richard Carlson ( May 16, 1961 - December 13, 2006 ) was an American psychologist and author of self-help books on stress management and coping with life .

Carlson grew up in Piedmont , California. He studied psychology from Pepperdine University and received his PhD from Sierra University . He then practiced as a psychotherapist.

His first book was published in 1985. He achieved a bestseller with the “Don't Sweat the Small Stuff” series, which was first published in Germany with the title “Alles keine Problem”, later as “100 rules for ...”. He worked with his wife Kris on "No problem with love". He published his “Manuals for the Soul” together with Benjamin Shields . He has published over 20 books, which have sold 40 million copies in 135 countries.

Carlson died of cardiac arrest while on a flight to New York . He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
