Richard Edon

Richard Alexander Edon (born Richard Deutsch December 27, 1876 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ; died April 10, 1960 in Vienna) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Richard Deutsch changed his name to Richard Alexander Ödon in 1906, he was also called Edon and he also used the pseudonym Ludwig Ulrich Eger.

Richard Deutsch was the son of the dealer Jakob Deutsch and Malvine Steiner. He resigned from the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde in 1903 , married Hedwig Schmidt in 1914, was baptized as a Protestant in 1915 and was secondly married to Anna Hettwer in 1936, to which he converted to the Catholic Church. Edon survived the persecution of the Jews during the Nazi era in Vienna.

Edon worked as a journalist and wrote several novels and dramas. He had a supporting role in the silent film Ssanin in 1924 .
