Hans Seichter

Johann Seichter (born June 20, 1923 in Mayen ; † May 27, 2005 there ) was a German surveyor and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Seichter attended elementary school until 1937 and then did an apprenticeship as a construction and art fitter until 1939. He then attended the technical college for surveying technology and trained as a surveying technician. In 1952 he passed the state examination as a surveying technician and became a surveying engineer.

In 1941 he joined the NSDAP .

In 1954 he became a member of the SPD, where in 1960 he became chairman of the Mayen local SPD association. From 1962 to 1971 he was chairman, from 1971 second chairman of the SPD in the Mayen-Koblenz district. In 1971 he became managing director and second chairman in the SPD sub-district of Koblenz.

In 1960 he became a member and 1962-1973 SPD parliamentary group chairman in Mayen City Council. There he was honorary first alderman from 1970–1973. From 1973 he was a full-time alderman and later mayor of the city of Mayen.

In 1960 he became a member and from 1962–1974 chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in Mayen and Mayen-Koblenz. From 1991 he was an honorary alderman for the Mayen-Koblenz district.

In 1983 he was elected to the tenth Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged for almost two terms until 1990. In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for economics and transport and in the 11th electoral term in the media policy committee. 1989 member of the 9th Federal Assembly .

In addition, since 1958 he was a member of the public services, transport and traffic union , chairman of the Mayen branch, district chairman of the districts of Neuwied, Mayen and Ahrweiler, member of the district executive committee in Mainz. 1964–1974 and 1979 he was a member of the board of directors and the credit committee of Kreissparkasse Mayen . From 1984 he was district chairman of the Mayen-Koblenz workers' welfare organization. He was a member of the Middle Rhine Planning Association, on the supervisory board of the business development agency in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, the state center for private broadcasters, member of the Rhineland-Palatinate City Association, the German Association of Cities and Towns and the German Association of Cities.
