Richard Ey (politician, 1923)

Richard Ey (born March 8, 1923 in Stemshorn ; † April 4, 1990 in Lemförde ) was a German farmer and politician ( FDP , later CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Ey completed an agricultural training and later worked as a farmer in Quernheim . In addition, he worked as a contractor, was a member of the committees of the German Agricultural Society and chairman of the Lower Saxony regional association and the federal association of contractors.

Political party

After the Second World War , Ey joined the FDP . From 1957 to 1967 he was chairman of the FDP district association Grafschaft Diepholz and was elected to the FDP state committee for Lower Saxony in 1958. In 1967 he joined the CDU.

MP

Ey had been a member of the Grafschaft Diepholz district council since 1956 . He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament between the fifth and the seventh electoral period from May 20, 1963 to January 24, 1973. Ey was chairman of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry between September 14, 1970 and December 7, 1972. First belonged he joined the FDP parliamentary group until February 21, 1967. On February 22nd, he switched to the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament.

From 1972 to 1980 he was a member of the German Bundestag . He has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Nienburg constituency .

Public offices

Ey served as mayor of the Quernheim community from 1952 to 1976 .
