history
The district of Grafschaft Diepholz was created on October 1, 1932 from the union of the Diepholz district with the Sulingen district during the district reform in Prussia .
The regional reforms in the Diepholz area began on January 1, 1967 with the merger of the four Wagenfeld communities. On March 1, 1974, the district was expanded by the Hanover Act to include the communities of Borstel and Staffhorst from the district of Nienburg / Weser. In addition, a series of parish mergers reduced the number of parishes from the original 71 to 36.
In the course of a district reform, the County of Diepholz went on August 1, 1977 together with the western part of the County of Hoya in today's County of Diepholz . The regional authority "Landkreis Grafschaft Diepholz" was dissolved after 45 years.
