Rathlosen is one of the five localities in the town of Sulingen in the Lower Saxony district of Diepholz . Around 540 people live in Rathlosen on an area of 19.40 km².

Rathlosen is located in the north-west of the city of Sulingen, 6 km north-west of the main town of Sulingen. The settlements of Flute, Herelse, Landwehr, Rathlosen and Stadt belong to Rathlosen. The flood is a single courtyard on the edge of Rathlosen.
Neighboring communities or localities are - from the north clockwise - Wesenstedt , Anstedt , Nordsulingen , Sulingen , Groß Lessen , Schweringhausen and Schmalförden .
The Kuhbach and the Kleine Aue flow through the village .
history
The name "Rathlosen" refers to a settlement and cleared forest: the first syllable of the name comes from the word "cleared", the second from the old word "loh" for forest and the third syllable comes from "Hausen", which means "houses" or "settlement" means.
The area around Rathlosen was already settled in the Stone Age. The place itself was first mentioned around 1230.
The Rathlosen community was founded in 1859 and existed until the administrative and territorial reform on March 1, 1974. Since this reform Rathlosen belongs to Sulingen.
politics
The local mayor is Sebastian Bönsch (UWG). Ingrid Jantzon held the office until 2016.
Culture and sights
The 56 m high shotgun mountain located in the forest area Rath Loser enclosure .
There is a volunteer fire brigade in the village of Rathlosen. There are two fire stations, one in Rathlosen and one in Stadt. The fire brigade has 3 fire engines in service.
Economy and Infrastructure
At a loss is far from the big traffic. The federal motorway 1 runs 36 km to the west. The federal road 61 leading from Bassum via Sulingen (Kernort) and Uchte to Minden runs east, 4 km away. The federal highway 214 from Diepholz via Sulingen (Kernort) to Nienburg runs south in a distance of 6 km.
In Rathlosen there are no street names, only house numbers , by which residents, postmen, vendors and visitors have to orientate themselves.
