Hans Brunow (politician)

Hans Brunow (born September 19, 1894 in Berlin , † February 16, 1971 in Bremen ) was a German politician (DNVP) in the final phase of the Weimar Republic and, after the Second World War, chief district director of the Grafschaft Diepholz district .

Life

After attending the Leibniz Gymnasium in Berlin, Brunow studied law in Geneva and Berlin from 1913 to 1914. After serving as an officer in the German army from 1914 to 1920, during the First World War and in the post-war period, he resumed his studies in 1920. In the same year he received his doctorate with a political science thesis for Dr. rer. pole. He also held the title of Dr. jur., although it remains unclear whether he acquired it in conjunction with the title mentioned first or separately from it (only one dissertation can be found).

From 1920 to 1939 Brunow worked as a deputy rate broker and broker on the Berlin stock exchange. He took part in the Second World War as an officer. Brunow was married twice and had four children, each with a daughter and a son, both from his first marriage, which was divorced, and from his marriage to his second wife Gertrud, geb. Groß (1904–1999), with whom he remained married until his death.

Politically operated Brunow during the Weimar Republic in the German National People's Party (DNVP), he for the December 22, 1932 on Empire nomination for the late Anna Therese Rawengel in the Reichstag nachrückte, which he to Reichstag election of March 1933 was a member.

From 1946 to 1959, Hans Brunow was senior district director (i.e. main administrative officer, corresponding to today's district administrator ) of the then Grafschaft Diepholz district. He became involved in the German party in the post-war period and, after merging with the GB / BHE, became a member of the merged German party .

Brunow was involved in rowing , first as an active athlete and later as an official . In 1920 he won the German university championship in one . In the 1930s he was temporarily the first chairman of the Berlin Rowing Club (from 1933 to 1936) and member of the board of the Berlin Regatta Club .
