Location of Dörrieloh in Lower Saxony

Dörrieloh is a district of the municipality of Varrel in the integrated municipality of Kirchdorf in the district of Diepholz , Lower Saxony .

geography

Dörrieloh is surrounded by two moors. One is the Renzeler Moor and the other is the Freistätter / Wagenfelder Moor . The Große Aue flows a good 900 meters east of the village .

history

A coin treasure found here dates from 1240.

Dörrieloh was first around 1300 Doringlo called 1381 Donringhelo , 1474 Doringelo , mundartlich Dörgeloh .

The name of the von Dorgelo family can be traced back to the place name Dörrieloh. The ancestral seat of the noble family in Dörrieloh was initially a saddle farm , later a manor . This was sold by the Dorgelos in 1578 and then remained in the possession of the von Grambart and von Brüning families until 1704 . A second manor in Dörrieloh, which was only privileged in 1575, was owned by the von Weyhe and von Zengen families until 1847 . It is perhaps identical to a farm owned by the von Stumpenhusen family , then the von Kanstein family .

Dörrieloh has belonged to Varrel since March 1, 1974.

Others

There is a rifle house in Dörrieloh. Until 1980 Dörrieloh had its own elementary school. The volunteer fire brigade is now housed in this building .
