The district of Emden was a district in the Prussian province of Hanover . It included the Emden surrounding area, but not the independent city of Emden itself. The district included the area of today's municipalities Krummhörn and Hinte , a large part of today's Emden urban area (the villages and their surrounding area were incorporated into Emden in 1946 and 1972) as well as today Moormerland belonging localities Oldersum , Tergast , Rorichum and Gandersum including their districts .
history
The district was formed from the old office of Emden during the Prussian district reform in 1885 . The city of Emden remained outside the district as an independent city , but became the seat of the district administration. In 1928 Wolthusen and Borssum were incorporated into the city of Emden. The district was dissolved during the district reform in 1932. Seven communities came to the district of Leer , the majority to the district of the north .
