Walter Bubert

Walter Bubert (born July 13, 1886 in Mölln , † August 8, 1950 in Osnabrück ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician.

Life

Bubert was a metal worker. Between 1908 and 1912 he was an authorized representative of the administrative office of the German Metalworkers Association in Nowawes . Then he was briefly managing director of the DMV in Osnabrück and then until 1923 workers secretary there . Between 1913 and 1923, Bubert was a city councilor for the SPD in Osnabrück. After that he was district administrator in the Emden district until he was put on hold in 1932 . Between 1919 and 1921 Bubert was a member of the Prussian state constitutional assembly and then until 1933 a member of the Prussian state parliament . He was also a member of the Reichstag between January and October 1923 .

In 1933 he was briefly imprisoned during the Nazi era . Between 1939 and 1940 he was in “ protective custody ” and was also imprisoned in 1944 in connection with the grid action .

After the liberation, Bubert was district administrator in the Osnabrück district between 1945 and 1946 and then chief district director in this district until his death.
