Neighboring areas
In early 1977 the district bordered clockwise in the north, beginning with the districts of Land Hadeln , Stade , Harburg , Rotenburg (Wümme) , Osterholz and Wesermünde .
history
After the annexation of the Kingdom of Hanover in 1867 by Prussia , the district of Bremervörde was formed on April 1, 1885 in accordance with the district regulations for the province of Hanover from 1884 from the former Hanoverian office of Bremervörde , the city of Bremervörde and the municipality of Elm of the office of Himmelpforten . The district was assigned to the administrative district of Stade , which emerged from the Landdrostei Stade . In 1932, the Zeven district was merged with the Bremervörde district. On January 1, 1939, the district was renamed the Bremervörde district .
After the Second World War, the district took on the sponsorship of the Stuhm district in West Prussia .
Before the community reform in 1974, the district comprised 108 communities. The law on the reorganization of the communities in the Bremervörde area reduced the number of communities in the district to 36 on March 1, 1974 through numerous mergers and the change of the Kirchwistedt community to the Wesermünde district. On August 1, 1977, the district was dissolved as part of the municipal reform and merged with the old district of Rotenburg (Wümme) to form the new district of Rotenburg (Wümme) .
