Oldendorf ( Olendbod in Low German ) is a district of the city of Zeven in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district in Lower Saxony . Oldendorf is strongly characterized by agriculture.

geography

Oldendorf is about 1.5 km from the core town of Zeven.

history

There is early human evidence in the region, such as the Steinalkenheide burial mound . Oldendorf belonged to the parish of Heeslingen until 1141. With the relocation of the monastery from Heeslingen to Zeven, the place became part of the newly founded parish of Zeven. During the Middle Ages, most of the courtyards became dependent on the monastery in Zeven. In 1254 Heinricus de Oldenthorpe transferred 2 domos to the monastery Zeven in Oldendorf. Before 1500 the village of Oldendorf was desolate. It was occupied again with farmers by the provost of the Zeven monastery. Originally there should have been four farms in Oldendorf. After 1500, the Zeven monastery files named a full courtyard and six half courtyards for the place, to which three Kötner posts were added up to 1600.

As part of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , the previously independent municipality of Oldendorf was incorporated into the municipality of Zeven on March 1, 1974. On June 30, 2016, 343 people lived in Oldendorf.
