history

The history of the Zeven district of Aspe is closely linked to the remains of the former Zeven Army Ammunition Plant, whose properties after the Second World War formed the basis for today's industrial area Zeven-Aspe . After the demilitarization of most of the facility, the site and its infrastructure were used to locate companies, some of which - or their successors - still exist. In 1947, for example, the following companies and institutions were based in Zeven-Aspe: Hospital, Karl Schreiber (mechanical engineering), EF Grunwald (printing), H. Kabjoll (fabric printing), Nieders. Aluminum goods factory, Hanseatische Gummiwarenfabrik, Paul Martin (dyeing and cleaning), Fritz Martin (gardening), Weckhof GmbH (ceramics and carpentry), Glinol-Bau GmbH (lightweight panels), Sengespeck & Co. (glass wholesalers), Nordmilch GmbH (children's food), Melchior and Theile (permanent milk factory), Konservenfabrik Zeven GmbH, Bernott & Co (regional products), W. Edler (agricultural machinery), Betonwerk Zeven GmbH, Joh.Burfeind (regional products), H. Bammann (wooden shoes), H. Grotheer (carpentry), P Heissler (mechanical workshop), H. Schulz & Co (insulating materials), H. Hein (clothing for men), Wegner restaurant, E. Prickschat (transport company), G. Mau (wood wholesaler). In the early days, individual companies were confronted with considerable difficulties, for example with their construction projects, but the industrial area developed rapidly and was an important employer for locals and refugees. Residential houses were built especially in the northwest of Aspe. The "Forest Hospital" established in 1947 was closed on September 1, 1958. Some parts of the former "Muna" building also served as residential buildings, old people's homes or boarding school in later years. Other areas were again used for forestry or agriculture. Today (2016) the entire industrial area with companies such as dmk , MAPA or LISEGA SE is one of the economic pillars of the city of Zeven. In addition, there is a vehicle registration office in Aspe of the Rotenburg / W district. to find. Several clubs are also based in Aspe.
