Fahrendahl ( Low German Fohrendaal ) is a district of the Gnarrenburg community in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district in Lower Saxony .

The Oste-Hamme Canal upstream

Fahrendahl is a street village along the district road 102 between the Oste-Hamme Canal to the south , a former peat canal , and the Fahrendahl-Fahrendorfer Canal to the north. Both rivers flow into the Oste .

history

Foundation of the place and population figures

Fahrendahl was founded in 1782, but in 1791 it is stated that the ten fire pits are still unoccupied. For the year 1848 it was stated that the place had 13 residential buildings with 83 inhabitants. On December 1st, 1871 there were already 130 residents in 18 houses. In 1910 there were only 102 inhabitants.

Incorporations

In 1929 Fahrendahl was incorporated into Fahrendorf and incorporated into Gnarrenburg on April 8, 1974 as part of the regional reform .
