Findorf ( Low German Findörp ) is a village in the municipality Gnarrenburg in Lower Saxony Rotenburg (Wümme) .

Geographical location
Findorf is around three kilometers long on both sides of the Oste-Hamme Canal . Findorf is surrounded by Kuhstedt in the west, the main town Gnarrenburg in the north and Karlshöfen in the east and west .
Waters
The Oste-Hamme Canal , a former peat canal , which flows into the Oste in Spreckens, runs through the local area .
history
Founding years
Findorf was founded in 1781 in the course of the moor colonization of the Teufelsmoor . In 1789 it is stated that the place had two houses in which eight residents, including four children, lived.
Incorporations
The two formerly independent communities Findorf and Kolheim merged as Findorf on April 1, 1929 as part of the incorporation . People of different origins report what is said to have led to disputes and disputes. However, through work and suffering, the mutual hostility subsided.
On April 8, 1974 Findorf was incorporated into the Gnarrenburg community as part of the regional reform .

People connected to the place
- Jürgen Christian Findorff (1720–1792), bog colonizer, he measured, drained and populated the bogs between Wümme and Hamme, the Teufelsmoor northeast of Bremen, through his work for the colonists he was nicknamed "Father of all bog farmers", founded u. a. Findorf named after him
- Jochen Kopelke (* 1984), police officer and former state chairman of the police union in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, is active in the Findorf District
