Ober Ochtenhausen is a district of the municipality Sandbostel in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location
The district of Ober Ochtenhausen is located in the extreme southeast of the municipality of Sandbostel on the border with Gnarrenburg and its district of Augustendorf . Ober Ochtenhausen is located about 6 km north of Rockstedt , about 5 km east of Augustendorf, 2.5 km south of the district of Sandbostel, which gives the municipality its name, and 5 km west of the Selsingen district of Parnewinkel . District road 101, also known as "Selsinger Strasse", runs from southwest to northeast .

The name "Ober Ochtenhausen" is derived from the personal name "Ofthari". Unproven traditions tell that Ober Ochtenhausen was the ancestral home of the Ochtenhausen family.
