Mintenburg is a district of the municipality Sandbostel in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location
The district of Mintenburg is located in the northwest of the municipality of Sandbostel on the border with Gnarrenburg and its district of Klenkendorf . Heinrichsdorf is about 2 km northeast of Heinrichsdorf , 8 km east of Brillit , about 2.5 km south of Klenkendorf and Minstedt and about 6 km west of Deinstedt . The "Mintenburger Straße" runs through the local area, which ends at Kreisstraße 148 (Augustendorf – Sandbostel).
Waters
The Oste runs through Mintenburg . Behind the local cemetery on a larger meadow there is a temporary landing stage and a kind of swimming area. The bathing area has a beach about 6 m long and shallow water ( about knee high at the middle of the river bed ) and begins behind a curve of the Oste, where the water itself is still quite deep.
history
Mintenburg itself was a noble court around the 17th century. It is believed that Mintenburg was a seat of the von Müntenstede family who appeared in 1230.
Naming
Münte , Münd from the short form of Mundolf is assumed to be the origin of the name .
