The district of Schaumburg-Lippe , based in Stadthagen, was a district in Lower Saxony until 1977 . Its area emerged from the state of Schaumburg-Lippe , which became part of Lower Saxony in 1946 and is now largely part of the Schaumburg district .
Neighboring areas
In 1977 the district of Schaumburg-Lippe bordered clockwise in the north, beginning with the districts of Nienburg / Weser , Hanover and Grafschaft Schaumburg in Lower Saxony and the district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
The district emerged in 1946 from the Free State of Schaumburg-Lippe , which in turn was previously divided into the independent cities of Bückeburg and Stadthagen and the districts of Bückeburg and Stadthagen .
The community of Schöttlingen originally formed an exclave of the Grafschaft Schaumburg district and was reclassified in 1955 into the surrounding Schaumburg-Lippe district. In return, the two communities in Schaumburg-Lippe, Beeke and Rösehöfe, became part of the Grafschaft Schaumburg district and were incorporated into the town of Obernkirchen . On October 1, 1971, the municipality of Frille was reclassified to the Minden district of North Rhine-Westphalia and merged with the local municipality of Frille. Since the 19th century, both a Westphalian and a Schaumburg-Lippe municipality of Frille had existed on both sides of the border.
Further border changes took place on March 1, 1974:
- Liekwegen from the Grafschaft Schaumburg district was incorporated into Nienstädt .
- Ottensen from the Grafschaft Schaumburg district was incorporated into Lindhorst .
- Reinsen from the Grafschaft Schaumburg district was incorporated into Stadthagen.
- Schermbeck from the Grafschaft Schaumburg district was incorporated into Luhden .
- Gelldorf and Vehlen , left the district and were incorporated into Obernkirchen in the Grafschaft Schaumburg district.
- Großenheidorn and Steinhude left the district and were incorporated into Wunstorf in the Hanover district.
- Nienbrügge left the district and was incorporated into Sachsenhagen in the Grafschaft Schaumburg district.
- Steinbergen left the district and was incorporated into Rinteln in the Grafschaft Schaumburg district.
Further mergers reduced the number of municipalities from 63 in 1967 to 20, including the two cities of Bückeburg and Stadthagen. In the course of the Lower Saxony district reform, the district was merged with the Grafschaft Schaumburg district on August 1, 1977 to form the Schaumburg district with the district town of Stadthagen.
