Rusbend is a district of the city of Bückeburg in the district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony .
Geography and transport links
The district is located north of the city center of Bückeburg on the state roads L 450 and L 446 and directly on the Mittelland Canal . This federal waterway is connected to the Rusbend area . The Schaumburg Forest extends to the north and west . East lies the 14 hectare large nature reserve Brummer Store .
history
Rusbend is mentioned for the first time in writing in 1584 with 20 hearths. By 1638, the effects of the Thirty Years' War and the plague it brought in had killed half of the population.
From 1764 to 1970 Rusbend had its own school. In 1974 the formerly independent community was incorporated into Bückeburg.
