Meinsen-Warber is a district of the city of Bückeburg in the district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony . It was created at the end of 2006 from the merging of the districts of Meinsen and Warber.
Geography and transport links
The district is located north of the town center of Bückeburg. The Schaumburg Forest extends to the north and west . The Bückeburger Aue flows through the village and leads the L 450 state road . Not far to the northeast, the Mittelland Canal runs past.
Nature reserves
There are two nature reserves (NSG) in the vicinity of the village :
- southwest the 65 hectare large NSG Bückeburger Niederung
- northeast the 14 hectare NSG Brummershop .
history
The place Meinsen was first mentioned in 1181 under the name Meinhusen , Warber under the name Worckere in 1235. At the end of 2006, the previously independent districts Meinsen and Warber merged.
